The Athensotel API exposes 1 endpoint — search_availability — that returns all bookable room types and their rates for a given stay at Athensotel in Athens, Greece. A single call yields per-rate stay totals, nightly amounts, tax breakdowns, cancellation policy flags, hotel check-in/check-out times, and CDN-hosted photo URLs, giving you everything needed to display a complete availability result without visiting the booking engine directly.

Runs the hotel's own availability search for one room over a stay and returns, per available room type, every bookable rate with its whole-stay total (all nights, taxes included as the site states), the site's price breakdown (nightly amounts, taxes included in the total, and taxes payable at the property such as the Climate Resilience Tax), the cancellation policy text with the parsed free-cancellation deadline (ISO date, null for non-refundable rates) and penalty, plus full-size room photo URLs and the room description. Room types the site lists but marks as not available for the stay are returned separately in unavailable_rooms with the site's message, so rooms contains only rooms that actually loaded with a price. hotel carries the property's check-in-from / check-out-until times as published by the engine and the hotel photo URLs; latest_arrival_time is null because the engine does not publish a latest arrival or reception-closing time. currency is the engine's active currency code (EUR). A stay with no available room is a valid success with rooms empty and rooms_available 0. booking_url is the engine start page: the engine keeps dates in its own browser session and offers no dated deep link, so dates must be re-entered there (booking_url_note repeats this). Costs one search plus one small request per listed room and per bookable rate (typically 10-25 requests); no pagination. Dates in the past, check_out not after check_in, or inconsistent children/child_ages return a stale_input error before any request is made.

What the API Returns
The search_availability endpoint accepts a required check_in and check_out date pair (ISO YYYY-MM-DD) plus optional occupancy fields: adults (1–4), children (0–4), and child_ages as a comma-separated string of ages in years. When children is greater than 0, child_ages must list one age per child — the booking engine uses those ages to determine eligibility and pricing. The response derives nights automatically from the two dates.
Room and Rate Data
Each entry in the rooms array includes room_name, room_type_id, thumbnail_url, description, and a photo_urls array of full-size CDN image URLs. Inside each room, the rates array contains one object per bookable rate with fields: rate_id, offer_id, rate_name, total (the whole-stay amount covering all nights), currency (ISO 4217 code read from the engine), nights, and a refundable flag that reflects the cancellation policy published by the engine.
Hotel-Level Fields
The top-level hotel object returns the property name, check_in_from and check_out_until times in HH:MM format, latest_arrival_time (null when not published), and photo_urls for the property. Additional echoed fields include the searched adults, children, check_in, check_out, and a booking_url pointing to the hotel's booking engine start page. The currency field reflects whatever currency the engine is serving at query time.
The book-onlinenow API is a managed, monitored endpoint for athensotel.book-onlinenow.net — not a raw scraper you maintain. Every endpoint is automatically health-checked on a schedule, and when athensotel.book-onlinenow.net changes and a check fails, the API is automatically queued for repair and re-verified. It is built to keep working as the site underneath it changes.

Each endpoint has a fixed posted price per successful call — most fall between 1 and 10 credits — shown on this API's page before you run it. Exceeding the rate limit returns a 429 response. Authenticate with the X-API-Key header.
