What is the Co API?

The 13tv.co.il API exposes 1 endpoint — get_episode_media — that returns up to 14 response fields for any VOD episode on Israel's Channel 13 streaming catalogue. Pass a numeric episode_id (e.g. 4607988) and get back all published manifest URLs in m3u8, mpd, and ism formats alongside episode metadata such as Hebrew title, synopsis, series name, and full playback context including play counts, view counts, and whether the episode is currently blocked.

Returns one episode record for a 13tv.co.il VOD episode id (the numeric id in the episode page URL, e.g. 4607988). The record carries the catalogue's published media sources (each with its manifest URL, container format m3u8/mpd/ism, DRM flavour and duration in seconds), the episode duration, the page's schema.org VideoObject metadata (ISO-8601 duration, embed and canonical page URLs), the player's playback context for the underlying video entry (manifest/download URL templates, play counts) and any player errors the playback context reports. All published sources for the episodes tested are DRM-protected and the catalogue marks them 'Israel Only'; from outside Israel the playback context returns an access-control block, which is surfaced in player_errors with code ACCESS_CONTROL_BLOCK and playback.is_blocked=true, while media_sources are still returned verbatim from the catalogue. page_metadata is null when the episode page is unavailable; playback is null when the episode has no video entry. An unknown episode id returns a stale_input error. Costs up to four upstream requests per call.

About the Co API

What the API Returns

The get_episode_media endpoint accepts a single required parameter, episode_id, which is the numeric identifier visible in any 13tv.co.il episode page URL. The response includes the episode title and description in Hebrew, the series_name, and an external_id catalogue slug. The entry_id field identifies the underlying video asset in the player.

Media Sources and Playback

The media_sources array is the core of the response. Each item carries a media_file_id, a format field (m3u8, mpd, or ism), a type label describing the DRM or packaging flavor, a direct manifest url, duration_seconds, and a boolean drm flag indicating whether the stream requires a DRM license. This gives you a complete picture of which manifests are available and what protection scheme each uses.

The playback object provides additional player context: duration_seconds, duration_ms, manifest_url, download_url, plays, views, is_blocked, and flavor_count. The is_blocked field lets you determine upfront whether an episode is accessible before attempting playback.

Coverage and Scope

The API covers publicly published VOD episodes on 13tv.co.il. The series_id and episode_id fields allow you to correlate individual episode records back to their series. Because the endpoint is driven by a single numeric episode ID, iterating across a series requires knowing the IDs for each episode in advance — no series-level listing endpoint is included.

Reliability & maintenanceVerified

The Co API is a managed, monitored endpoint for 13tv.co.il — not a raw scraper you maintain. Every endpoint is automatically health-checked on a schedule, and when 13tv.co.il changes and a check fails, the API is automatically queued for repair and re-verified. It is built to keep working as the site underneath it changes.

This isn't an official 13tv.co.il API — it's an independent, maintained REST wrapper over public data. Where the source has no official API (or only a limited one), Parse gives you a stable contract over a source that never promised one, and keeps it current. Need a new endpoint or field? You can revise it yourself in plain English and the agent rebuilds it against the live site in minutes — contributing the change back to the shared API is free.

Will this API break when the source site changes?+
It's built not to. Every endpoint is health-checked on a schedule with automated test probes. When the source site changes and a check fails, the API is automatically queued for repair and re-verified — that's the self-healing layer. Each API page shows when its endpoints were last verified. And because marketplace APIs are shared, any fix reaches everyone using it.
Is this an official API from the source site?+
No — Parse APIs are independent, managed REST wrappers over publicly available data. That is the point: where a site has no official API (or only a limited one), Parse gives you a maintained, monitored endpoint for that data and keeps it working as the site changes — so you get a stable contract over a source that never promised one.
Can I fix or extend this API myself if I need a new endpoint or field?+
Yes — and you don't have to wait on us. This API was generated by the Parse agent, which stays attached. Describe the change in plain English ("add an endpoint that returns reviews", "fix the price field") in the revise box on the API page or via the revise_api MCP tool, and the agent rebuilds it against the live site in minutes. Contributing the change back to the public API is free.
What happens if I call an endpoint that has an issue?+
Errors are machine-readable: a bad call returns a clean status with the list of available endpoints and a repair hint, so an agent (or you) can recover or trigger a fix instead of failing silently. Confirmed failures feed the automatic repair queue.
Common use cases
  • Build a Channel 13 VOD library index by collecting manifest URLs and Hebrew titles across episode IDs
  • Check is_blocked and drm flags before initiating playback in a custom player integration
  • Track audience engagement over time using plays and views from the playback object
  • Catalog available stream formats (HLS, DASH, Smooth) per episode for adaptive streaming research
  • Retrieve Hebrew description and series_name to populate a multilingual media database
  • Monitor duration_seconds across episodes of a series for editorial or scheduling tooling
  • Identify DRM-protected vs. clear streams by reading the drm boolean in media_sources

Frequently asked questions
Does 13tv.co.il have an official developer API?+
13tv.co.il does not publish a documented public developer API for accessing VOD metadata or media sources.
What does the `media_sources` array contain, and how do I know which manifest to use?+
Each object in media_sources includes a format field (m3u8 for HLS, mpd for DASH, ism for Smooth Streaming), a url pointing to the manifest, a type label describing the packaging or DRM flavor, a drm boolean, and duration_seconds. You can filter the array by format to select the protocol your player supports, and use the drm flag to determine whether a license request is required.
Does the API return `is_blocked` at the series level, or only per episode?+
The is_blocked flag is returned inside the playback object at the individual episode level. There is no series-level availability endpoint in the current API. You would need to call get_episode_media for each episode ID to check availability across a season. You can fork this API on Parse and revise it to add a series-level endpoint that aggregates availability across episode IDs.
Can I retrieve a list of all episodes for a given series or season?+
Not currently. The API resolves metadata for one episode at a time via episode_id. Series browsing or episode listing by series_id is not covered. You can fork this API on Parse and revise it to add a series listing endpoint that returns all episode IDs for a given series and season.
Are live stream URLs or news broadcast streams available?+
The API covers VOD episode media only — the media_sources manifests it returns are for on-demand episodes identified by a numeric episode_id. Live or news stream URLs are not part of the current endpoint. You can fork this API on Parse and revise it to add a live stream endpoint if that data is publicly accessible on 13tv.co.il.
